    History

    Enter the Prince's Reception Hall

Visit the Mâbeyn-i Hümâyûn, the reception building where outside visitors were received. Sultan Abdülaziz had this complex built in the 1860s and assigned it to Şehzade Abdülhamid in 1868; Abdülhamid lived here before becoming sultan. After his accession, the complex became known as the Maslak Imperial Farm.

Look Out to the Garden from the Harem Windows

Stand before Kasr-ı Hümâyûn, the harem building of the complex, where the prince lived with his family. Within this 170,000-square-metre estate, the harem, reception building, viewing pavilion, pool, bath, orangery, stables, kitchen, and even a telegraph room formed a small self-sufficient world.

Find the Orangery Between the Towers

Explore the orangery and garden, where citrus trees and delicate plants were protected in winter inside a glass structure. Today it sits amid one of the city's busiest business districts. The garden can be entered with a separate, cheaper ticket, so you can spend time here even without visiting the pavilions themselves.

Imagine the Unseen Sibling at the Viewing Pavilion

Pause at the Seyir Köşkü, built for the view as its name suggests. There is another palace structure in Maslak: Ayazağa Kasrı, begun in the reign of Mahmud II and rebuilt by Abdülaziz, with a tiled pavilion by the pool. Today it lies inside a military zone and is closed to visitors.
